In my spare time during my undergrad I took a lead role on the North Carolina State University High Power Rocketry Club. The two pictures above were taken during a test launch in preparation for the NASA University Student Launch Initiative (USLI) competition. My primary role on the team was Lead Outreach Officer, however I also helped facilitate rocket post-launch  recovery systems.

In the following pictures, numerous rocketry outreach programs are illustrated. These events were designed to promote higher education in mechanical and aerospace engineering through teaching community youth about the math, science, and excitement that goes into high powered rocketry. I organized and executed a little over 14 events and actively worked with around 1000 individuals as young as elementary school, all the way to professional educators in STEM teaching workshops. Several of these organizations are listed below:

  • Marbles Kids Museum
  • Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute
  • Boys and Girls Clubs
  • Baileywick Science Expo
  • NASA’s NC SPACE Math and Science Education Network
  • YMCA
  • Wake County Public School System
