In the Florida Keys magazine advertisement, the primary focal point is the “FLORIDA KEYS” title. This was created with an appropriate use of emphasis and proportion in relation to the rest of the document. For example, the font size was increased, all caps were used, and a more active warm color was chosen to contrast the cooler passive background. In addition, as found within the Via Ferrata composition, I chose to contrast primary colors (blue and yellow) to emphasize the primary focal point. This document uses a formal symmetrical balance to produce a more eloquent aura. For example there are mirroring palm trees on each side of the picture, with a dock and a bush to balance each other. Also, font choice was repeated throughout the document to achieve a simple, pleasing, and clear layout. Visual flow starts with the primary focal point, “FLORIDA KEYS,” at which point the reader considers the entire message, “Vacation in the FLORIDA KEYS.” Next, their eye drifts down to the sailboats, and on to the descriptive modifiers, ending at the website address.
